Scouting For Girls - Heartbeat @ Glastonbury
It was my first Glastonbury Festival and what a first night it was - the rain had fallen so setting up a tent in a tight spot was even more fun! Once we'd set up tent the sound of The Feeling blasting out from the Pyramid Stage feeding our desire for music, so off we set for a night of wet musical delight.
First up was Beth Ditto and The Gossip who wooed the crowds and even joined the throng as she left the stage to continue singing and mingling. Wearing a black hoodie, the colder evening prevented Beth from stripping off this year but still we saw a great introduction to Glastonbury 2008.

Nipping over to Jazz World we saw Fun Lovin Criminals churn out their hits then I left my friends and made my way to the Other Stage for the one band I'd come to see - The Enemy. Normally I'm in a safe spot filming but tonight I'd wormed my way towards the front and plonked myself about three rows from the front of the stage. With my Union Jack around my waist and my 'I Love Cov' t-shirt on, I was ready to sing my little heart out. I wasn't the only one, everyone around me was up for a anthem sing-a-long set.
From the moment The Enemy came on until the time they left - Tom Clarke, Liam Watts and Andy Hopkins kept the pace lively, fresh and loud with everyone joining in. Pride over took me (maybe the alcohol helped!), and my 'I love Cov' t-shirt was soon waving in the air. Despite some guy moaning behind me, I kept waving my t-shirt from time to time - after all these lads made me proud of my city so why shouldn't I express my feelings?
Final act of the night was Pete Doherty, turning up rather dazed and thinking he was playing Saturday night, he apologised for being late. This didn't stop the massive crowd that had come to the Park to listen to the ex Libertine singer put on a worthy solo set. Even past midnight and the hardcore Glastonbury faithful were listening avidly as Pete Doherty proved why he is a force to be reckoned with.
Sadly, this Glastonbury virgin could stand no more and the alcohol bore it's effects and my tent was calling me...............

Oh I'm famous - check out for the story and for great celeb gossip!
But with nothing on TV worth watching and a few hours spare I watched the Kate Nash "Foundations" video and thought I could do a one man show of my own. Not easy when you watch the Kate Nash video below, lots of camera moves and fancy special effects.
I had to film myself (and Miss Piggy!) and try and get it all timed as close as I could. Bit difficult when you can only really add the song at the end (and even then the download I'd just bought wouldn't work so I had to record it from the speaker - how very 1980's!)
It took 6 hours to record this 4 minute video (I had not seen the Kate Nash video until yesterday) - mine is not meant to be professional (yes, it means my version is CRAP !), my intention was just to have a bit of fun and experiment.
For best results, watch the original superior Kate Nash version first - so you can see where I got my ideas from, then watch the robmacca version (ignore the poor sound quality etc).......

I'm not Patch Ripps personal stalker (honestly, the restraining order still hasn't come through and I don't sniff his underwear!) - here is Patch's mobile phone picture taken on Thursday night as he tried on my glasses. Must admit - they suit him better than they do me! Looking very dappa Mr Lagunas............
Congratulations to Coventry's The Enemy for getting another chart hit this week (#4) with "Had Enough". They worked damn hard last week doing signings up and down the country as seen last week on "robmacca's entertainment news" but I'm rather annoyed and feel ripped off once again. I'd ordered three copies of the signed limited 7" vinyl (only 500 available) - but instead I got just 3 ordinary 7" singles arrive in the post today. I'm sending them back to HMV as i can buy them for 99p from Virgin if i really want them.
At the last single "Away From Here" they said their was 1,000 copies limited edition Stiff Records release - I ordered 10 and it turned out to be not so limited and not numbered so I was annoyed to say the least. OK rant over, well done lads, now stop blagging to us with bogus limited editions cos it p**ses me right off!
robmacca discovered a Coventry band, The Ripps who had some great music.
So robmacca ordered some t-shirts from the band
Then one day Patch Ripp and James delivered them to robmacca's house
Then they surprised him by giving him lots of stickers and some "Holiday" postcards
As a way of thanking him, they gave him a CD with lots of bonus album tracks on
robmacca wanted to cry when he saw all the kindness shown by The Ripps
Never had an artist or "celebrity" done so much for someone so little like robmacca
Finally robmacca had his very own "I ♥ Cov " t-shirts to wear
robmacca went to bed one happy Ripps fan
Not THE END
(just another chapter)
Catriona, minus the back combed hair, drove us down towards London...........
Big pile up on M40 meant stuck for 7 hours and missing The Enemy.
Now watch the video to see my reactions to the day:
robmacca in the Coventry Telegraph.
robmacca was in the local newspaper today as the Coventry Telegraph reported on The Enemy's HMV performance. As circled in the picture above you can see just how close I was to the front. I'd been about 10 in the queue before the signing , but once inside there were already "HMV guests" - which included Tom's young brother Andy (as seen at the front of the picture talking to his friend Dom who is playing with his mobile phone). If there hadn't been any HMV guests then I'd have been right at the front, but I'm still happy where I ended up standing.

*UPDATE: Here is a picture posted in another local newspaper, see if you can spot robmacca in this one............
