Noel Quits Oasis After Fight

Oasis have split up after the band pulled out of a second gig this weekend, leaving thousands disappointed at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. A reported "altercation within the band" is to blame for the cancellation.

According to early reports Oasis pulled out just before they were due on stage. Liam smashed Noel's guitar, which resulted in the brothers having a fight. Madness had to step in and take over as the headline act.

Speculation is now rife that Oasis have split up, just hours after former All Saints singer Natalie Appleton said Oasis would never split up.

Oasis Cheques Will Become Collectors Item

Oasis have just refunded almost £1m to 20,000 fans who took advantage of a refund following the first gig at Manchester's Heaton Park on Thursday June 7, where technical difficulties prompted Noel Gallagher to tell fans it would be a "free gig".

Rather than cancel the gig, Oasis waited for the sound problem to be sorted and then played later than any of the other tour dates to make up for the delays. The trouble is - if you offer someone a refund, they will take it. No wonder Noel called them "cheeky c**ts" a few days later as so many applied for a refund.

The Oasis cheques look set to become a collectors item because they are signed by both Noel and Liam Gallagher with a 'Oasis Bank of Burnage' logo at the top and are already fetching quite a good price on websites like eBay. True fans are more likely to keep the cheque as a piece of memorabilia - something that will please the Gallagher brothers as the thought of paying out almost £1 is not a nice thought.

VIDEO: Oasis - Wonderwall @ Ricoh Coventry

Oasis rocked Coventry's Ricoh Arena in front of thousands of fans with The Enemy playing a supporting role and members of The Specials in attendance. Playing new and old songs from their vast collection of hits had the crowds singing along as they joined in the gig. Reports of clashes between drunken fans during the night have since emerged and security have been criticised for not taking enough action.

VIDEO: Oasis Fan Attacked At MurrayField Gig

Here is the video footage of the attack at the Oasis Murrayfield Stadium gig where eight people were arrested as violence broke out amongst the 70,000 crowd. The Daily Record obtained the video and has passed it on to the police for further investigation.

There were reports of two assaults and one man ended up in hospital following the attack (seen in video below) by a gang of men at the Oasis gig. The shocking attack happened while Kasabian were performing in the early evening and in broad daylight while shocked fans looked on. The man was eventually rescused by others at the gig following the attack.

A witness told Scotland's Daily Record they blamed security for not doing enough: "Stewards were looking on and not doing anything. It was a proper beating this guy was taking. Even when he was out cold, they were attacking him."

Another female fan told the newspaper: "At one point, one of them actually stamped on the guy's face or body. What angered me more was that security stood by."

Oasis Gig Ends In Chaos As Band Forced Off Stage

Oasis were forced to abandon their opening home coming gig at Heaton Park in Manchester (June 4) after technical difficulties and an 11pm time curfew. They were playing 'Rock 'N' Roll Star' at the start of their set around 9pm, when sound problems forced them to stop and leave the stage. Crowds were soon booing, according to NME magazine, and when Oasis returned to play 'Lyla' - problems intensified.

A generator failure had technicians frantically working to solve the fault but smoke was seen coming out of the equipment. After 40 minutes the set list could continue with an apology saying, "Really sorry about that," Liam Gallagher told the crowd. "This is a free gig now. Everyone will get a refund."

His brother Noel added: "The curfew's 11, but we'll play 'til they kick us off. Keep your ticket and you'll get your money back." As reported earlier, The Enemy had pulled out of the gig due to food poisoning. Both bands will be back in Manchester on Saturday (June 6) and Sunday (June 7).

The Specials Confirmed For V Festival

The Specials will be performing at this years V Festival, along with other Coventry band, The Enemy. The recently reformed SKA band will be playing on Saturday 22nd August and Sunday 23rd August 2009 at Weston Park in Staffordshire and Hylands Park in Chelmsford.

Headlining the V Festival are Oasis and The Killers, with a whole host of top bands and artists including -Fatboy Slim, Snow Patrol, Keane, Elbow, Razorlight, Ting Tings, Pendulum, MGMT and Lady Ga Ga.

Also appearing will be James, Lily Allen, Katy Perry, The Wombats, James Morrison, Pete Doherty and The Streets..

Oasis Banned From China?

British rockers Oasis have cancelled their dates in China as it appears the Chinese authorities would have banned them because of claims that Noel Gallagher has links to Tibet. The Chinese would be eager to avoid another high profile artist making a public statement on stage, following Bjork much publicised shouting of "Tibet!" at the end of her concert in Shanghai.

Noel and Liam are not the sort of rock stars who don't toe the political line and have spoken out very honestly over the years, so it is likely the band would have cancelled or boycotted China once restrictions were placed upon them. Two dates were scheduled for Beijing's Capital Arena on April 3 and the Shanghai Grand Stage on April 5 to promote the latest Oasis album 'Dig Out Your Soul'.

Oasis will be here in the UK as part of their world tour with The Enemy supporting and Oasis picked up Best British Band last week at the NME Awards.

The Enemy to Support Oasis 2009 Stadium Tour

Oasis have announced that Coventry band The Enemy and Kasabian will be supporting them on their newly announced stadium tour for June/July 2009. "We always said when we were doing the big super gigs again we would give Kasabian first option, said Noel.

"As for The Enemy I've liked them since their first ever single. So with the three bands on one night if I was 16 or 17 I'd be here."

"To be honest I'm actually really made up with the bill and when you see it in front of you, you just think, 'What a night out!'. I'm just glad I'll be able to get tickets."

The Enemy have been busy in the studio recording their eagerly awaited follow up album, which is due for release in April 2009. They took time out to give their reaction to the news, Tom Clarke warned fans to, "Prepare yourselves for the greatest Rock and Roll show in the world."

Drummer, Liam Watts confessed the tour was, "Something I've always wanted to happen has just become a reality, Buzzing!!" and Bassist Andy Hopkins declared, "This is gonna be f**king amazing - what a line up, cant wait".

The Enemy will be touring the UK in March and April and then join Oasis for their stadium tour on:

Oasis Top UK Album Chart

Oasis have topped the UK album chart this week with their new release 'Dig Out Your Soul', knocking off Kings of Leon in the process. The Manchester band have made it seven chart toppers out of seven, as all their studio albums have gone into the UK charts at number one.

Oasis Noel Gallagher Attacked on Stage

Oasis front man Noel Gallagher was attacked onstage during their V Festival performance in Toronto, Canada last night as the video below shows. While Oasis sang "Morning Glory", a man ran on and pushed Noel Gallagher off the stage. The 40 year old singer landed on the speakers and later taken to hospital may have fractured his rib and sustained ligament damage.

Security quickly floored the attacker who was detained in police custody and will be charged with assault, according to the bands website. Immediately following the invasion, Liam Gallagher had to be refrained from retaliating as he went to hit the man.

The band went off stage for several minutes following the attack, but returned to finish their set. Following the performance Noel Gallagher went to hospital and fans will have to wait to find out if tomorrow's show will go ahead or not. Oasis are in America until Friday, where they will play New York as their final US show.
