Mel C Shows Baby Bump On Al Murray Show

Mel C showed off her 'baby bump' during an interview on ITV's 'Al Murray's Happy Hour' tonight (Friday 3rd October). Melanie is the last Spice Girl to become a mother, but has no regrets about waiting until she was 34 years old.

Taking about the other Spice Girls motherhood, she said, " they're all mums and they're all really good mums actually." When asked if the baby is a boy or a girl, Melanie C told Al Murray, "I don't know and I don't want to know."

Mel C also spoke about the Spice Girls reunion and said that initially she didn't want to do it but "now I've done it - it was amazing and I'm really glad I did." Claims about how much the Spice Girls made from their reunion tour were exaggerated, "it wasn't what they said in the papers, by a long stretch."

Melanie C will be performing an acoustic gig at Manchester's Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday 9th October to help raise money for breast cancer research. The full Al Murray interview will be shown on ITV at 10pm tonight.

Spice Girls: Tour Ends This Month

Mel C is leaving the Spice Girls at the end of the month according to The Sun today. The newspaper claims Sporty Spice has had enough of touring with the Spice Girls and has pulled plans to visit Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina as part of "The Return of the Spice Girls" world tour. Meanwhile the rest of the girls commitments means the tour must end this month.

The official Spice Girls website made this statement today:

"......Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets in the UK and the US along with the touring logistics for such a massive production it was not possible to fit everything in. As the girls return to normal family life and the kids go back to school they are reviewing all the options, who knows what the future might bring!

The girls said: “We’ve had such an amazing time over the last 3 months. It’s been incredible being back together and seeing our fans again. We want to thank everyone who came to see us. It was all so mad the first time round, so we’ve really been able to appreciate it properly this time. There have been so many highlights and good times that we know it will be hard to be apart after Toronto. Really sorry if we didn’t get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives now but who knows what will happen next."

Fans have reacted angrily across Australasia at the breaking news , which has shocked many. The "Greatest Hits" album went to #1 in Australia when it was released before Christmas and now fans feel betrayed because the shows will not now take place. Spice Girls fans vented their anger on a popular forum, saying the Spice Girls had only reformed for money and not for the fans.

    Music News Update

robmacca is away on holiday - so here is a quick music update while in Australia:

*UK album sales dropped 10.8% to 138.1 million during 2007 but single sales increased almost 20m to a total of 86.6m.

*EMI face one crisis after another, first Robbie Williams went on strike, Coldplay are considering leaving the company and now Kylie has stuck the boot in, blaming the company for her poor album sales.

    * Keep your eyes peeled as the Brit Award nominations become public this week, the Osbourne's will be presenting the show in February.

    * Mel C is to have all her tattoos removed, according to the News of the World today. The Spice Girl will have all ten removed at the end of the tour. Now think of the poor fans who copied her in getting the tattoos!

    * Britney Spears single, "Piece of Me" has knocked off X Factor winner Leon Jackson's "When You Believe" from the #1 position in the Irish charts. Britney managed to climb up to #2 in the UK this week.

    * The Enemy "We'll Live And Die In These Towns" album rose from #44 to #27 this week as it enjoys it's biggest climb in recent weeks. Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts have already started another busy year of gigs, returning to the UK from Germany.

Spice Girls - "Giving You Everything" BBC / Fox Documentary

The most candid documentary ever made by the Spice Girls airs on the BBC at 19:00 on New Years Eve, but now you can see it in full thanks to YouTube. The programme looks at the ups and downs, the rise and falls, the closeness and the divisions that has been the Spice Girls.

The documentary charts the early days when the Spice Girls were formed and then gained world domination to the departure of Geri Halliwell in 1998. Through the tears and individual demons - Scary, Sporty, Baby, Posh and Ginger got back together in June 2007 for the world tour and another chance to enjoy all the "Girl Power" that the Spice Girls bring.

Spice Girls: "Giving You Everything" Documentary

The programme will be up against ITV's two top soap operas on New Years Eve and will face stiff competition for viewing figures as the nation prepares to party, but robmacca is predicting an audience of around 5 million.

Spice Girls In Concert - O2 Pictures

Going to see the Spice Girls after all these years, was a dream come true for me. They were the only group I'd really ever wanted to see and this weekend it became a reality as "The Return of the Spice Girls" Tour hit the UK. Who would have thought the Spice Girls would ever tour again? Seeing them perform on stage for two nights was fantastic, at times it was hard to believe that the five women on stage were indeed THE Spice Girls.
The crowds really got into the spirit of the occasion and were cheering from start to finish and it was rather interesting how loud they became every time Posh sang her lines. Maybe it is because she has the highest profile but it was all very spontaneous and added to the night. Below are a selection of pictures from the weekend, you can see about 120 over in my Facebook profile.

    Spice Girls: Tour Pictures

The Spice Girls are back and these pictures from the first night of the world tour clearly show "Girl Power" has not lost any of it's sparkle. Mel C, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Mel B took Canada by storm as Spicemania returned 10 years later to the 16,000 crowd at the General Motors Place, Vancouver.
Click on the pictures to see them more clearly, the full story can be read at The Sun online. Read a full review: HERE.

The Spice Girls "Greatest Hits" spent a third week in the UK Top 20 yesterday at #12 - one place higher than the new Girls Aloud album, proving who the real winners are when it comes to girl bands!

Oh yes and robmacca and co will be in London for the first two UK concerts!

Melanie C Wants To Become A Mum

    Melanie C

    From USA Today:

HOLLYWOOD — Inside the cozy Eastman Room bar off the Kodak Theatre lobby, four of the five Spice Girls have taken their seats for a group interview. Melanie C spoke about motherhood and boyfriends:

"For nearly six years I've been with my partner," Chisholm says, then clarifies, "It's a boy, by the way, in case there's any girls out there gettin' hopeful."

Chisholm's boyfriend, Thomas Starr, a builder with model looks, has done little to dampen Brits' questioning of her sexuality.

And she seems to take devilish delight in the ambiguity, witnessed by her costume choice for the group's second fashion show number. The women wore elegant evening gowns designed by Roberto Cavalli (who is also designing their still-top-secret tour costumes), and only Chisholm added a men's top hat and wore flats (to protect her "bit of a sore knee," she says).

Now the only childless Spice Girl, Chisholm says, "I would love to be a mum. And definitely that's something I want in my future, but it hasn't been the time for me."

    Spice Girls Go Gold!

The Spice Girls "Greatest Hits" album will go gold this week on it's second week in the UK. The news will be welcome in the Spice camp as it seems the single "Headlines" has been getting a bashing in the British media because it will not reach the number one spot this Sunday.

The "Greatest Hits" album has apparently already sold 1.6m around the globe since the launch last week, reaching #1 in Australia, #2 in the UK, #9 in Ireland and #11 in Hong Kong to name but a few places.
The Spice Girls also gained the highest viewing figure during the BBC "Children In Need" charity event of Friday - 10.9 million tuning in to watch them perform "Headlines " and "Stop". It's interesting to read that the official video on YouTube is fast approaching 2.5 million hits after less than three weeks on the website, gaining #1 positions for the following:

#1 - Most Viewed (This Month) - Music - United Kingdom
#1 - Most Viewed (This Month) - Music
#1 - Most Discussed (This Month) - Music - United Kingdom
#1 - Most Discussed (This Month) - Music
#1 - Top Favorites (This Month) - Music - United Kingdom
#1 - Most Linked (This Month) - Music - United Kingdom

Things just keep on getting better as Melanie B goes from strength to strength on "Dancing with the Stars" and is now bookies favourite to win after getting to the finals this week.
Heat have given us a glimpse of the tour outfits by Roberto Cavalli and the BBC documentary is just weeks away from being aired. Not getting "Headlines" to number one in the UK isn't such a disaster after all................

    Spice Girls "Victoria's Secret" Pictures

The Spice Girls need no introduction, and they proved they still have what it takes as the world's #1 female group. They took the Victoria's Secret launch party by storm, performing "Headlines" and "Stop" in sexy military outfits for the American crowds. As seen in the pictures below, the Spice Girls also wooed America with some stunning evening gowns. The event caused a sensation in true Spice Girls style. Check out the GMTV video clip as well, which described the performance "like the Oscars".

Meanwhile the Spice Girls will be appearing live from LA for the BBC Children In Need charity event tonight performing the single "Headlines". Over in Ireland, the "Greatest Hits" album went straight in at #9 and is expected to go top ten in the UK on Sunday.
