Andy Burrows Quits Razorlight

Andy Burrows has quit Razorlight with immediate effect, the drummer said he was leaving for 'personal reasons' and was not at the Razorlight gig at Wolverhampton earlier this week.

The band will continue with their temporary drummer, David Sullivan-Kaplan. Front man Johnny Borrell said, "Over the last two albums and five years Andy has been an integral part of Razorlight and we will miss him. As far as the band's future is concerned, we're all looking forward to touring with Skully and getting on with making our next record."

Andy Burrows said, "I will be pursuing other musical ventures." He released a solo album last year and looks set to continue his musical career without Razorlight.

Razorlight To Split?

Rumours and counter rumours have been circulating on and offline about the future of Razorlight after The Sun newspaper reported that lead singer Johnny Borrell has been planning a break from the band to make his own solo album.

Johnny Borrell has become the "hated man in pop/indie" by the press and non-fans for quite a while, so perhaps a change of scenery will do him good.
Hopefully it won't mean the total demise of Razorlight - but if your feeling a bit lost you can always check out some pictures of Johnny Borrell HERE - including the NME picture seen on the left.
