Matt Smith is "smitten" with girlfriend Daisy Lowe after enjoying a break in the US, according to reports.

The 27-year-old actor, who currently stars in Doctor Who, also jokingly refers to her with a US term for a transexual, says The Sun.

"[Jaime Winstone is] best friends with Daisy and gets on really well with Matt," the source added. "They're happy to have her round. She's seeing a lot of her mates since splitting with Alfie [Lily Allen's younger brother]."

Smith has only recently started dating the model, who is the daughter of rocker Gavin Rossdale and previously dated music producer Mark Ronson.
