Katrina signs up film opposite Shah Rukh, betrays lover Salman Khan

As reported by us a few weeks ago, top filmmaker Yash Chopra was approached by Shah Rukh Khan to direct a big budget romantic flick… and now we can reveal that more actors have been chosen for the ambitious project.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, Yash has had to sign up Abhishek Bachchan in a guest role because that is the only way he could get his father Amitabh Bachchan on board; Big B refused to do the film if Abhishek wasn’t part of it. Now we can also reveal that hot babe of the moment Katrina Kaif will be the lead heroine.

Apparently, Katrina had already been approached by Yash a good few months ago but she was not happy working in the film without the permission of her boyfriend Salman Khan. Says a source, “”Katrina’s final response to Yash Chopra came on 16 September, the day Salman left for his 40 days shoot in Paris and London for Vipul Shah’s upcoming flick “London Dreams“. Salman is still oblivious to the fact that Katrina has been signed up by Yash Raj Films to act opposite his current arch enemy Shah Rukh Khan!”

Continues the source, “The Temptation Reloaded Tour’s curtain raiser is scheduled to take place in the mid of October in Dubai and Katrina is going to perform there on stage along with Shah Rukh, while Salman is still in London. It remains to be seen how Salman reacts to this news. Katrina is already doing a Yash Raj produced movie “New York” directed by Kabir Khan starring Salman’s another enemy, John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh.”

Katrina Kaif ready to work with Salman khan

Actor Katrina Kaif on Tuesday refuted reports that she had decided to end professional relations with beau Salman Khan and said that a good script was the only pre-condition for her to sign a film.

"I have never said that I will not work with Salman Khan after "Yuvraj". I always go by the script. I do not know how such speculations float around. If our dates work out, we will be featuring in Sohail Khan’s next film," Katrina, who replaced Aishwarya Rai as the ambassador of "Nakshtra" jewellery brand told reporters here.

On reports that she was no longer part of Shah Rukh Khan’s "temptations" world tour after the much-hyped SRK-Salman fracas at her birthday party, Katrina said she enjoyed being on stage and dancing. "If dates permit, I will surely be part of the show," she said.

Katrina informed that she is leaving for the U.S to shoot for Kabir Khan’s film being produced by Yash Raj films, this week. The actor is being paired opposite John Abraham in this untitled film. "This will be my longest outdoor schedule ever," she said. She said she was looking forward to the release of "Singh is Kinng" this week. "It is an entertaining film and we have worked very hard on it," she said.

Katrina said Akshay was a wonderful co-star to work with."He has a good sense of script, commercial cinema and audience tastes. He is unbiased towards co-stars. Namastey London was a woman centric film. But Akshay was also its main strength. Besides, we have fun matching each other’s energy in dancing," she said.

Salman spoil his love by being over possessive

Katrina ignores Salman

Salman and Katrina’s romance was going through a rough patch already as the actor, reportedly, had objections to the lady’s choice of films and her co-stars, and now the beau’s spat with Shah Rukh has given a final blow to their relationship. Industry sources say Katrina is in no mood to forgive Salman for his behaviour at the actress’ birthday bash which received unwanted media attention.

Reports reveal that after the actor’s fight with the King Khan, Sallu has been trying really hard to woo Katrina and get the love story back on track. But Katrina has got so irritated over his flattering attempts that she has stopped talking to him.

A well-placed source has revealed, “Katrina is blaming Salman for the entire episode. The lady believes that Salman, being the host of the evening (at her birthday), could have handled the situation more sensibly.”

Katrina seems to have grown over Sallu as the actress recently said that she doesn’t want to work with the actor anymore. The lady, however, justified her statement saying that she would now like to be paired with actors of her age.

So will Katrina do her share of publicity for Singh Is Kinng? She reveals, “I’m a professional and have a big film to talk about. Of course I will. In fact I have a media interaction lined up in a few days for the promotion of Singh Is Kinng”.In the same breath, she adds, “But if any journalist wants to ask me about that fight on my birthday party, please don’t bother.”

No one could anticipate that a star-studded birthday party of Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif would turn into a battle of the two Indian super stars - Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan - dividing the industry into two camps.

The two superstars were caught in a war of words on the July 16 party that Salman threw for current girlfriend Katrina, which later turned ugly. Salman was reportedly instigating Shah Rukh from the beginning of the party by speaking about their reality shows - "Dus Ka Dum" and "Kya aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?" respectively. Salman claimed that his show "Dus Ka Dum" had garnered more TRPs than Shah Rukh’s, said sources.

Salman scoffed at Shah Rukh by saying that in spite of being a super star he could not make his show a hit.

Shah Rukh initially did not pay any heed to Salman’s comments. The final blow came when Shah Rukh made a comment on Salman’s ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai, inviting a furious retaliation from Salman.The incident occurred late in the night, when many of the guests had left.

Though Aamir Khan tried his best to resolve the dispute that arose between Salman and Shah Rukh on Katrina’s birthday party, the two are not in a mood for compromise as both have got the support from their well wishers in the industry.Salman, who is known for his loyalty towards friends, got supportive calls from old time friends like Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Khanna, said sources.

Fardeen Khan and Zayed Khan also showed their concern for the actor by calling him.Ranbir Kapoor, who worked with Salman in "Saawariya", was the only newcomer to jump into the camp fight by calling him to express his sympathy, sources added.

If Salman had his supporters, so did King Khan. Veterans like Yash Chopra and Javed Akhtar called Shah Rukh to enquire about the incident. Besides, Karan Johar, Sajid Khan and Farhan Akhtar once again proved their loyalty towards the actor by offering their support.Kunal Kohli also called the actor to know about his well being.

"While Salman has the support of actors, Shah Rukh has the support of the directors. It’s an advantage for Shah Rukh, " remarked an industry watcher.

Boman Irani and Riteish Deshmukh made the IIFA 2008 night all the more interesting with their good sense of humour.
