VIDEO: Pint Shot Riot - Somebody Save Me

Coventry's Pint Shot Riot are back with another cracking tune, the lads have even made a naughty video for the song (Coventry people might recognise a few of the places!) The video features Guy Jenkins and Amy Rudge and was directed by Dino Kazamia - Rocket has been a very naughty boy, as you will see in the video below!. The single, Somebody Save Me is available from iTunes for just 79p and on CD from HMV for £1.99.

Pint Shot Riot have also released their debut album, entitled 'Spell It Out' - available at HMV for £9.99 (with DVD of Coventry Kasbah gig) or £7.99 (without DVD) at iTunes.
The review sums Pint Shot Riot up perfectly: Produced by Peter Miles (King Blues, Crazy Arm), the album narrates stories of life and love in today's Britain. The CD also includes a live DVD featuring one of the bands sell-out hometown shows at Coventry's 1000 capacity venue Kasbah.

The band have recently returned from New York where they performed at Webster Hall and the Mercury Lounge to promote their last single 'Hazy Days'. Pint Shot Riot will return to the USA to perform at SXSW in March 2011.

The next single 'Somebody Save Me', is a typically riotous affair which grabs instantly from its pulsating introduction, holds on with its infectious chorus and doesn't let go until the final chord is struck.

Pint Shot Riot have cut their teeth performing with bands such as Band Of Skulls, Athlete, We Are Scientists, Pete Doherty, The Twang, Cage The Elephant, Glasvegas and fellow Coventry locals, The Enemy. Pint Shot Riot's music has reaches millions of people across the world, with various songs featuring on the video games 'Need for Speed Hot Pursuit', 'Need For Speed Nitro', 'FIFA 2010', 'Fight Night Round 4' and 'The Sims 3'.

Truly a band on the rise, Pint Shot Riot's 'Spell It Out' is a must for anyone in need of honest, and fresh guitar driven indie-rock.

VIDEO: Pint Shot Riot - Come Back To Me

Pint Shot Riot prove that Coventry has talent with their latest video for 'Come Back To Me', which was released on Monday 5 October and was filmed in The Warehouse Club Coventry.

Frontman Rocket spoke to The Sun saying, "We've played with some great bands like Glasvegas and The Enemy but we've got two great singles ready to go and now it's our turn to headline.
"The music biz is changing and if people get to hear independent acts through new channels like video games then that's cool."

Godiva Festival 2009

Pint Shot Riot

Coventry's Godiva Festival lived up to expectations and put on a great display both local talent but also some groovy bands from around the country. Best of all the three day festival was FREE, which in the difficult times we live in was impressive. Thanks to the organisers like CVOne, Harry Shaw and other local companies the festival continued for the 90,000 in attendance over the weekend.

The Twang

Initially I was concerned Godiva wouldn't live up to last year, where The Enemy headlined but the rains came down. Yet bands like The Twang and Idlewild kept the good people of Coventry entertained. Coventry's very own Pint Shot Riot rocked the main stage Saturday afternoon with The Twang visibly enjoying being on stage, joking about a trainer thrown during the performance. The main stage wasn't the only place to listen to music, Freefall Collective packed out the Rhythm Tent and were (for me) the best band because it was totally unexpected.

Freefall Collective

I wish I'd gone on the Friday for Go West and the other 80's acts, the Saturday Carnival and the chilled out Sunday. The weather had been perfect this year and the crowds more chilled out. While The Enemy might not have been performing this year, it didn't stop Andy Hopkins from attending the festival to enjoy Godiva like everyone else.

Pint Shot Riot Live @ Zavvi, Coventry

Pint Shot Riot - Live @ Zavvi, Coventry

Coventry's Pint Shot Riot put on another live show for the people of Coventry at Zavvi record store. While it may have been freezing outside, Pint Shot Riot turned up the heat inside with a blistering performance featuring their latest hit single 'Holes'.

The upbeat set included firm favourite 'Riot Act' and previous indie hit 'Start Digging' and 'Punches Kicks Trenches and Swords'. Family and friends were close by with fans lapping up the musical feast.

Pint Shot Riot are well known in Coventry and recently sold out the 1,000 capacity Kasbah venue as well as performing at the Godiva Festival during the summer. The band have also set up their own record label (Life In The Big City Records) as they continue to grow in popularity.

Godiva Festival Coventry: Pint Shot Riot

Pint Shot Riot @ Godiva Festival Coventry

Pint Shot Riot believe Coventry has an opportunity to be firmly established on the musical map and then put on a stunner of a show at the Godiva Festival to prove it is true. The band stand at the edge of something big as their single "Start Digging" is released on Monday 7th July.

They are another proud band that big up Coventry and told the crowds they are the one's that make a difference. As fans danced, moshed and sang along, Pint Shot Riot gave the happy crowds something to remember from the Godiva Festival. I heard people saying the band were better live than on their MySpace page and reactions from the crowds were clear to see - Coventry loves Pint Shot Riot.

As well as playing their familiar tunes, the lads also played a new track, which was an instant hit with the masses - watch the video below and judge for yourself. Hopefully many of those in attendance will now do their bit in helping local music and support Pint Shot Riot in their bid to make it big by purchasing the single on Monday.

Vinny McElvenny Fundraiser At Inspire Bar Coventry

It was a great night for Coventry music as bands and artists performed at Inspire Bar, Coventry in a fundraising event for Vinny McElvenny. Tom Clarke from The Enemy performed an acoustic set, despite feeling worse for wear with a sore throat. Just two weeks earlier Tom had been performing in Leeds in front of a 35,000 crowd but proved his feet are still firmly on the ground as he returned home to Coventry and belted out a set in front of around 200 guests.
He also performed a T-Rex classic 'Cosmic Dancer' along side The Enemy's 'You're Not Alone', 'Away From Here' and 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns'.

Pint Shot Riot, another quality Coventry band played a string of new tracks for the evening as well as the B-side 'Riot Act', from their forthcoming single that is released on July 7th 2008. With fans inside and outside the venue, Pint Shot Riot put on a superb acoustic performance and proved once again that Coventry has alot of talent.

Bands and artists converged at Inspire Bar to be part of the special fundraising event - they were all showing their support for a man named Vinny McElvenny, who is a legend among those on the Coventry music scene. A man who is passionate about Coventry music and who has worked hard promoting the music scene and supporting local bands. A recent fire at his home had caused devastation as Vinny lost everything, but as the event showed - Vinny had lost none of his friends and none of his zeal for Coventry music.

The event was organised by another Coventry legend, John Dawkins (the man who brought us The Enemy). He took time out of his busy schedule to arrange the fundraiser, once again supporting his home city and proving Coventry has talent. Working behind the scenes Mick Leape (Inspire Bar) helped pull off a great evening of acoustic music that rivals the bigger cities easily.

No Cassandra, MBE/Jesus Deluxe, Senses, Exit Calm and Jersey Budd all put on a grand show with many of the artists performing without their drummers, it was a different environment to perform. Yet each act, from the first to the last proved their flexibility as artists and gave Coventry an evening to remember. Vinny even joined Senses on stage to sing along to the James track, 'Sit Down' and later thanked everyone for their support during the difficult times.

Below are some pictures and videos taken during the course of the evening on my mobile phone, sadly my digital camera batteries were flat - so this was all I had left to use. I will be posting a blog at
www.robmaccaextra.blogspot.com/ , sharing my personal story from the event.
