A Hong Kong actress at the centre of an Internet sex photo scandal has broken her silence about the incident, lashing out at the pop star who took the compromising pictures, a report said Saturday.

Cecilia Cheung, one of several local celebrities shown in the photos with Hong Kong-Canadian actor and singer Edison Chen, said he had never apologised, and that she was still reeling from the ordeal a year later.

Cecilia Cheung Pak-Chi is a Hong Kong actress and cantopop singer based in Hong Kong. She is the wife of Nicholas Tse, thus being the daughter-in-law of Patrick Tse (謝賢) and Deborah Lee (狄波拉). She and Nicholas have a son, Lucas.

"He has never apologised to us personally," Cecilia Cheung told iCable in an interview broadcast late Friday, according to a report in the English-language South China Morning Post.

"He should at least have called us to say sorry if he genuinely admitted his mistake."

She added: "The photos are still circulating online. How can we live a healthy and happy life? How can we put ourselves back on our feet?"

The photos -- showing Edison Chen in compromising positions with various celebrities including Cecilia Cheung, Canto-pop star Gillian Chung and former actress Bobo Chan -- became an Internet sensation when they were posted a year ago.

Cecilia Cheung said she decided to break her silence after Edison Chen gave evidence earlier this week in a Canadian court in the case of Sze Ho-Chun, a computer technician charged here with illegally posting the explicit photos online.

The 28-year-old Edison Chen for the first time identified Cecilia Cheung, Chung and Chan in the Vancouver court as some of the women in the photos, but said later outside court he wanted to "protect" them and that they had "suffered enough," the Post reported.

Cecilia Cheung, also 28, angrily retorted: "You should not have come out (now)... saying one thing but doing another in a bid to win the public's forgiveness whilst hurting us."

Edison Chen, one of Asia's biggest stars in film and music, saw his career destroyed by the appearance of hundreds of the sex photos, which caused a storm in celebrity-obsessed but culturally conservative Hong Kong.

The scandal forced him into early retirement and sent him fleeing to his childhood home of Canada.

When Cecilia Cheung discussed her relationship with Edison Chen, she implied he was dishonest and unreliable and a hypocrite who brought shame to the women involved in the scandal.

In the interview, she also said women involved in the scandal had not expected Edison Chen to protect them a year ago, but asked him now to give them the respect and dignity they deserve.

During the television interview Cecilia Cheung cried when she talked about her family. She said she was very grateful for the support of her parents-in-law and especially her husband Nicholas Tse, whom she called the best husband she could ever have.

Edison Chen, who flew to Singapore with friends for a publicity campaign reacted to Cecilia Cheung's interview by saying that the scandal was his fault and he accepted all blame.

Cecilia Cheung also said she would consider resuming her acting career if she was offered a good script, but for now would focus on her family. The actress almost stopped working after the scandal became public in last January.

In a court hearing earlier, Hong Kong actor Edison Chen revealed that some 40 obscene photos were taken by a female celebrity and given to him as a 'present'.

The case, in which obscene photos of Edison Chen and four other Hong Kong female celebrities were seen involved in sex acts, is currently being heard in Canada, Shin Min Daily News reported.

According to the Chinese paper, Chen testified in court that 40 of the hundreds of photos that were posted on the Internet were taken by one female celebrity during one of their trysts.

The pictures were then burned on a DVD and given to him for his "personal appreciation". Edison Chen also admitted to downloading the 40 pictures onto his computer.

The actor also told the court that the pictures were given to him by the female celebrity out of her own will, and that it was only meant for the both of them. The other women involved in the case had no knowledge of this, Chen testified.

Edison Chen also stressed that the obscene photos were not meant to be shared with any third party, and that none of the people involved had given the photos away or spoke of their sexual encounters.

This, Edison Chen reasoned, was why the photos, which existed since 2001, were not known to the public until February 2008. The pictures were taken between 2001 and 2006, Edison Chen said.

Edison Chen also denied accusations that he transferred the obscene photos from his computer to his mobile phone and showed the pictures to others.

During the hearing, Edison Chen testified that he bought four Apple computers from the eLiTeMULTIMEDIA store in Chung Wan, Hong Kong.

One of these computers was the Apple laptop in which the obscene photos were extracted when the former action star took it back to the store for repairs. Edison Chen said that the notebook computer remained at the store for a few days.

However, Edison Chen told the court that the obscene pictures were already deleted before he sent the computer in. But he admitted that he did not know deleted files could still be extracted from a computer by persons with the knowhow.

Lianhe Wanbao reported Edison Chen confirming the identities of the four female celebrities involved in the case as Cecilia Chung, Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan and Rachel Ngan.

The Chinese evening daily said that Edison Chen was initially reluctant to testify to reveal their identities, speaking in English, "I'm determined to protect their innocence. They have suffered enough."

Edison Chen called on anyone who possessed the images to destroy them immediately. “Let’s help the wounded heal their wound,” he added, calling the photos’ distribution “malicious and criminal”. Good luck on that!Kira, the mastermind of the said fiasco reportedly contacted Edison Chen prior to releasing these images and asked for 5 million US dollars in exchange of the photos but Edison Chen declined. As of the moment, Kira, is still on the loose.

Edison Chen Scandal- 2 arrested for spreading celebrity sex photos in east China

JINAN, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese police have arrested two more men in a nationwide crackdown on the distribution of sexually explicit photos featuring Hong Kong entertainer Edison Chen, police in east China's Shandong Province said on Sunday.

Hong Kong police have been hunting for the first releaser of the photos and had made several arrests.

At least 13 people have been arrested on the Chinese mainland in connection with the photos. Chinese law prohibits the production, duplication, selling or circulation of pornographic products even without the purpose of making profit. Offenders can face detention of up to 15 days.

Ten people who allegedly produced, sold or bought computer discs of the photos were arrested in the southern city of Shenzhen in February, when police confiscated about 250 discs and six computers used to produce the discs.

An 11th person, surnamed Yu, was detained for 10 days in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, on Feb. 22. He was found to have downloaded 260 photos on his computer and uploaded the photos to the album of his QQ space to attract other Internet users.

On Saturday, police in the central China province of Hunan sentenced two men to five days detention for disseminating the explicit photos on the Internet.

Last month, the Chinese Internet search engine Baidu.com was asked by a Beijing Internet self-discipline organization to make a public apology for allowing the circulation of the photos.

A 25-year-old man surnamed Wei was arrested on Feb. 12 for allegedly uploading 1,174 shots featuring Chen with female celebrities on to a chat room of the instant messenger QQ.com for downloads, according to the Internet supervision police brigade in Zibo City.

Wei allegedly provided links to the chat room at cbbn.bbs, a popular on-line forum, to canvas interest. Wei was detained and is awaiting trial.

The Zibo police said Wei confessed that he obtained the photos from another person outside Shandong when the pictures started to leak out.

The other man, surnamed Li, was given a ten-day detention and fined 3,000 yuan (420 U.S. dollars) on Feb. 15 for uploading more than 180 copies of the photos to his personal space at QQ.com.

Police in Tai'an, in Shandong, said Li, 21, provided links and codes to access the photos through his web page to solicit visits to increase its popularity.

The photos, reportedly copied by a computer repair shop assistant from a faulty laptop believed to belong to Chen, began to appear on the Internet from Jan. 27.

On Feb. 21, Chen made a public apology and announced that he would quit the Hong Kong entertainment industry. He admitted most of the photos were taken by him. "These photos were very private and have not been shown to people and were never intended to be shown to anyone."

According to Armorize Technologies, fraud groups (or organized crimes) recently renewed their crime ways on phishing tools especially using pseudonyms as "Edison's photos" by web-phishing, e-mail hacking, and peer-to-peer file transferring. Even though Google will notice those phishing sites as danger sites who will damage a user's computer, but its virus wasn't still found and scanned by several anti-virus software especially Norton AntiVirus, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Trend Micro Internet Security, and NOD32.

Also in this conference, Armorize announced some statistics after a special experiment with their software HackAlert:
If an Internet user linked to a phishing site, set by a fraud group, a malicious software, which can't be found and scanned by any anti-virus software, will be downloaded into a user's computer silently. The software will steal several private data, collect several information on user's software, and attack other unharmed websites. And according to a statistic with Internet users' habit, it evidently exposed a major problem on bad habits especially using P2P software when connecting to Internet.

Even though Edison Chen claimed to quit the entertainment industry in Hong Kong, but the (photo) scandal showed another crisis on information security world-wide including Taiwan.

Hong Kong actor Edison Chen said he'll quit show business after admitting taking sexually explicit photos with celebrities that leaked onto the Web and generated a wave of media coverage in the city.

``I am deeply sorry,'' Chen said at a press conference in Hong Kong today. ``I admit most of the photos being circulated on the Internet were taken by me. I would like to apologize to all the ladies and their families.''

Hong Kong police said some 1,300 private shots of Chen in bed with at least half a dozen female celebrities had been copied by the staff of a computer repair shop from a faulty laptop believed to belong to Chen, sparking off a media frenzy.

The Canada-born Chen, a hip hop artist and Asian film star who has appeared in films such as Infernal Affairs, the Hong Kong triad film which inspired Martin Scorsese's Oscar-winning film "The Departed", admitted for the first time that most of the pictures circulating on the Internet had been taken by him.

"These photos were very private and have not been shown to people and were never intended to be shown to anyone," the 27-year-old said in a calm voice amid a flood of camera flashes from the hundreds of reporters gathered.

"I have failed as a role model. However I wish that this matter will teach everyone a lesson."

He said in a brief statement he would fulfill existing commitments before stepping down "indefinitely". He added that he would dedicate himself to charity and community work.

"I've decided to do this to give myself an opportunity to heal myself and to search my soul."

Hong Kong police have so far made 10 arrests in connection with the scandal.

A series of Hong Kong-oriented nude photo scandals involving numerous celebrities there heated up the Internet news here last week. The scandal was the third most viewed news item on Naver's most searched list last week.
On Jan. 30, local media reported several photographs purportedly showing sexual relations between Hong Kong actor Chen Kwoon Hei, 29, more widely known by his English name Edison Chen, and pop singer Gillian Chung, 28, were leaked to the Internet and rapidly reproduced throughout cyber space.
According to Hong Kong's Ming Pao newspaper, the pictures were copied from the actor's faulty computer last year when he took it in for servicing.
``A person in the shop found hidden in files in Chen's computer, confidential nude pictures of naked female stars, which were then secretly copied,'' Ming Pao reported, quoting an anonymous source.
At first the two entertainers denied the allegation, saying, ``They are doctored photographs.''
Despite their denial, hundreds of explicit pictures were posted online, cornering the actor and starlets he appeared with.
According to Hong Kong police, a total of nine female celebrities including several world-class actresses such as Cecilia Cheung, Gillian Chung and Bobo Chan had sexual relations with the actor.
The computer shop was subsequently raided by police in a widening investigation across the territory, which has led to eight arrests for infringing the obscene material law, and the seizure of hundreds of other explicit images, many unpublished.
Following the leakage, actress Cecilia Cheung and husband Nicholas Tse now live separately and Bobo Chan broke off an engagement with her fiance. Gillian Chung reportedly attempted suicide but failed.
According to Hong Kong's Apple Daily, the disgraced actor Edison Chen who is now staying in Boston with his girlfriend will return to Hong Kong on Sunday to be questioned by police.
A major suspect who was arrested on suspicion of spreading the nude photos online was released recently, according to Apple Daily on Feb. 16.

A NAUGHTY picture of what seems to be American-Vietnamese actress Maggie Q emerged on the Internet yesterday, and netizens have quickly linked it to the ongoing Edison Chen sex photo scandal in Hong Kong.
The real Maggie Q (short for Quigley) sports a tattoo of a rising phoenix on the same spot. It can be seen in her Hollywood film Balls Of Fury.

This, even as Edison himself is facing calls to return to Hongkong to face the music.

Although fully clothed, the woman is seen kneeling in a suggestive pose with her skirt lifted up to reveal her white panties and a hint of a tattoo on her left hip.

It is not known how the photo got leaked, but its appearance confirms recent speculation online that the next female celebrity to be implicated is one whose name bears the letter Q.

If so, this will make her the eighth victim in the scandal, and by far, the most famous star of the lot.

Others whose raunchy photos have surfaced in the past two weeks include actress Cecilia Cheung, retired actress Bobo Chan and singer Gillian Chung, who admitted on Monday that she was 'naive and silly'.

Hawaii-born Maggie, 29, who had started out as a teen model, starred in the Hong Kong film Gen-Y Cop with Vancouver-born Edison in 2000.

Sharing a similar Westernised background, they reportedly bonded well and even became lovers.

Even though her name came up early in the scandal, Maggie told the Hong Kong media last week through her manager that she would not give any comments because she is currently in the US and has not seen any reports so far.

But, she is slated to return to Asia next month to promote her new film Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon. It opens here on 3 Apr.

Resourceful netizens have been conducting their own investigations though.

From two old photos of Edison wearing a T-shirt and a pair of sports shoes that match those in Maggie's picture, they concluded that it must been taken in Edison's home.

Perhaps Edison can do his own explaining when he returns to Hong Kong by the end of the week.

His manager told reporters on Monday that he will leave Boston on Friday, after spending Valentine's Day with his girlfriend Vincy Yeung.

The manager added that Edison will definitely hold a media conference, and it will be different from Gillian's brief session that did not allow any reporters to ask questions.

But details will only be worked out after Edison returns.

Also, Edison confided in his actor pal Jaycee Chan recently that he will definitely give a public response soon.

Jaycee told reporters on Monday he managed to contact Edison via MSN and he could sense the latter was 'very unhappy'.

Meanwhile, there is talk that Cecilia got down on her knees to beg her actor husband Nicholas Tse not to file for divorce.

Apparently, their marriage is on the rocks because Nicholas suspects Cecilia cheated on him with Edison.

A clear sign of trouble: His wedding band was conspicuously missing when he was last seen by reporters recently.

But it seems Cecilia has no intention of coming out to face the public yet.
