The Brit Award Effect

The Brits has had a dramatic effect on the UK Album chart this week, the whole Top 10 was Brit influenced.
New comers winner Arctic Monkeys held on to the #1 spot for a fourth week. Multi Brit winners Kaiser Chiefs climbed back up to #2, with their album which has had chart domination for almost 1 year. Surprisingly, James Blunt dropped a place at #3 - but this may have been because the DVD came out, so would have affected sales.
Even Kanye West climbed back up the album chart and re-entered the Singles chart with "Gold Digger".

The Brits may have faltered in the viewing stakes but it has still been a triumph for the music industry as well as British music.
