Keira Christina Knightley (pronounced /ˌkɪərəˈnaɪtlɪ/;born March 26, 1985) is a Golden Globe–, BAFTA-, and Academy Award–nominated English film and television actress. She began her career as a child actress, and came to international prominence in 2003, after co-starring in the films Bend It Like Beckham and Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.
Knightley has since become a notable lead actress, having appeared in several Hollywood films and earning an Academy Award nomination for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in Joe Wright's 2005 adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
As of 2008, Forbes claims Knightley to be the second highest paid actress in Hollywood (behind Cameron Diaz), having reportedly earned $32 Million in 2007, making her the only non-American person on the list of highest paid actors or actresses.Knightley, however has denied such figure.

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Britain's Keira Knightley has joined the cast of a movie about a married couple, starring with France's Guillaume Canet and US actress Eva Mendes, the industry daily Variety said Thursday.
Filming will start next month in New York on "Last Night," revolving around the couple who have to resist temptation when they are apart for a night due to a business trip.
Knightley, 23, nominated for an Oscar for her 2006 role in "Pride and Prejudice," is also the star of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies with Johnny Depp. She will next be seen on movie screens in "The Duchess."
France's Canet directed the surprise summer US box office hit "Tell No One," which took in five million dollars in 10 weeks.
