Sophie Chaudhary denies relationship with Peter Andre

Singer-actress Sophie Chaudhary struck an instant camaraderie with Australian singer Peter Andre at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, but denies any romantic involvement with him. "Peter was sweet and a thorough gentleman. We spoke about music, London, Bollywood and his new album.
I am a singer and in future we may collaborate but I don't want people to put two and two together and come to wrong conclusions. However much contemporary I appear on screen but I am an Indian girl at heart. I will never date a married man, " Sophie said. While Sophie hosted the IIFA fashion extravaganza in Macau earlier this month, Andre had especially flown to the Chinese town to perform at the event. On the very first day of the IIFA weekend, Sophie initiated conversation with Andre and the two hit it off thereafter.

They even walked together on the green carpet of the IIFA awards ceremony. Sharing what her conversation with Andre was all about, Sophie said: "Peter was talking about his kids all the time. I know looking at my pictures with Sophie Chaudhary at the red (green) carpet at the recent award function, people jumped to the conclusion that I was dating her. But it is not true. I was honoured to be in her company. But I hardly know her at all, " Andre was quoted as saying in a press release.

What's common between Lara Dutta, Jessica Simpson?

Bollywood beauty Lara Dutta is set to do what American actress-singer Jessica Simpson does - endorse the Indian adaptation of popular food chain Pizza Hut's campaign for its new dish called Cheesy Bites.

Lara will don a red dress teamed with red boots just as Simpson did in a series of hugely successful Cheesy Bites commercials in the US."The Cheesy Bites ad is totally fun just like the pizza where you can twist, pull and pop, cheese filled bites into your mouth.
I am aware of the success that the campaign got in the US and I hope it is even more successful here in India, " said Lara.Cheesy Bites is a unique pizza with 22 cheese-filled bites that form the pull-apart crust. In the US, these were made popular by Simpson, who played a sassy waitress in the TV commercial. The Indian advertisement will have Lara in the same avatar.

Cheesy Bites is already available in the Pizza Hut outlets, but the TV commercial will go on air later this week.

DNA confirms Shiney had sex with his maid

The DNA test reports of rape-accused Shiney Ahuja have confirmed that the Bollywood actor had physical relationships with his teenaged maid who had alleged that the film star had raped her, a police official said here Monday. "We have received the test reports and they confirm the allegations made by the victim in the police complaint against the accused, " Amitabh Gupta, Additional Police Commissioner of Mumbai (North Region) told this evening. However, Gupta declined to comment further in the matter.Independent sources said that the DNA samples of the accused matched the samples taken from the 18-year-old victim, who had also suffered scratch marks on her body.Investigators had also taken samples of other articles from Shiney's residence in the posh Versova area of Andheri west for evidence, including semen stains detected there.
The development comes a week after Shiney's blood sample reports had nailed his claim that he was drunk when he was accused of raping his domestic help. The blood sample report also clearly mentioned that he was not drunk and was in his full senses at the time of the incident that day.Shortly after his arrest, Shiney's wife Anupam had rushed to his defence and declared that he neither smoked nor consumed alcohol.

The two latest reports could seriously blunt the actor's self-defence.On June 14, Shiney's domestic help had lodged a police complaint alleging rape by the actor. After his arrest, he was shunted to police custody and is presently in judicial custody till July 2 (Thursday). If the charges against him are proved in court, Shiney faces a minimum seven-year jail sentence.A team of the National Commission of Women (NCW) rushed to Mumbai and met all the concerned parties, including the victim and her family members.Following the NCW visit, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had announced that the Shiney rape case would be transferred to a fast track court soon.

Where did Michael Jackson hide his cash?

Grace Rwaramba, the woman closest to Jackson and his three children, was in London when news of the tragedy broke on Thursday. As she prepared to board a plane to fly home and comfort the orphaned kids Grace got the call from one of the Jackson family which shocked her to the core. She told interviewer Daphne Barak: "The relative said, 'Grace, you remember Michael used to hide cash at the house? I'm here. Where can it be?' "I told them to look in the garbage bags and under the carpets. But can you believe that? They just lost Michael a few hours ago and already one of them is calling me to know where the money is! "They also told me the children were crying and asking about me. They can't believe their father died." This is the first time Grace, 42, has broken her silence on her 17 years with Jackson - five as his secretary and 12 as nanny. In candid conversations she revealed sensational details of the pop king's secret life, how he:
* DOWNED so many drugs she had to pump his stomach on many occasions to prevent a fatal overdose.

* SPONGED off generous pals' handouts and loans.

* SPENT weeks living in the basement of a former employee's cramped home recently because he was BROKE.

* TERRIFIED his children who actually HATED the masks he forced them to wear in public. Choking back tears, Grace spelled out her fears over the orphaned kids - Prince, 12, Paris, 11 and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, known to the family as Blanket - and admitted: "I'm really distraught for them. Michael hadn't been eating and the kids have been so scared for him."Now the youngest has been saying,'Why Daddy? God should have taken me not him.' " Uganda-born Grace, 42, revealed she fled America to join TV interviewer Barak at her Swiss holiday home after she was abruptly sacked by ailing Jackson just two months ago. And on Thursday she screamed with shock as she learned of his death.Grace now finds herself at the centre of the billion-pound custody battle for the children - now being looked after by Jacko's mum Katherine, 79.

Githa Nafeeza Of Presenter TV

Githa Nafeeza is Indonesia Presenter and Reporter News of National TV. She born in Bogor 19 October 1980, have complete name is Githa Asterita and ever show on program public Corner.

robmacca's Glastonbury Highlights

Wrapped in a plastic bag looking like I'd died and was waiting to be collected by the bin men describes the picture of me above, but the reality of Glastonbury was far from dead and buried - it was alive and as vibrant as ever. This year we arrived about two hours earlier than last year and stayed four hours longer but I vow I'll get the coach next year and arrive on Wednesday or Thursday so I can get even more out of Glastonbury because three days is just not enough. It might have been a mud bath when we arrived Friday lunch time yet my wellies came home cleaner as glorious sunshine and warmth surrounded us during the annual festival.

Glastonbury is a chance to see bands you wouldn't normally watch, like the Metric (pictured above) - this Canadian band were the highlight of my Saturday as they belted out their tunes on the Other Stage. Rolf Harris had packed out Jazz World so much we just couldn't make our way into the field, we did manage to hear him singing 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport' with the masses joining in. Bruce Springsteen may have got the crowds as the headliner on Saturday night but he just didn't do it for me as it felt more like a concert than anything else. We did spot the teacher from Inbetweeners and managed a crafty picture without disturbing him (he was too busy being mobbed by a group of drunken lads!).

Another nice surprise was bumping into a hot and sweaty Kid British who had just walked about six miles from the Pyramid hospitality area to their car, they had done a last minute set but the walking finished them off. I thought it best not to ask for a picture at that point as it wouldn't have been fair. So many bands so little time, that is what makes Glastonbury so good - walk around see the different fields and absorb the sights and people, it is a real treat. Trash City and Shangri-La transform at night with fire, bars and alleyways to keep you entertained throughout the night.

It's not all about the music at Glastonbury, the picture above shows a monk like character walking around huge sculptures - just one of the millions of visual delights you get at the festival. So many people who attend Glastonbury make a real effort to dress up in costume and just go for it, we Brits just love it and it all adds to the fun - rain or shine we know how to party!

Ultimately Glastonbury is about the music and Blur (pictured above) typified the Glasto experience - an emotionally charged stage performance with plenty of crowd sing-a-longs and an amazing light display to top it all. We love artists who get us involved and Sunday seemed to be the day for it with Tom Jones, Madness and Blur being three of the artists I sang along and danced my pants off too. Coming from Coventry, watching The Specials on Friday was a high point for me. I made my way down as far as I could squeeze and lapped up Terry Hall and co performing their hits as I took as many pictures and videos as possible, while at the same time making sure I enjoyed this historic moment. Another dream come true and I was a happy Coventry boy once again.

I'm getting older and this year I seemed to take every opportunity to just lie down and soak up the sun or shut my eyes for a few moments due to lack of sleep. The weather had been kind to us again this year and that makes a big different, plus the 2,400 toilets were well maintained as ever and made the whole festival a joy to attend. Being with friends, surrounded by fun-loving music lovers and pampered with a feat of artists makes Glastonbury my musical highlight of the year.
Roll on Glastonbury 2010 because I'll be doing it all again...............

Katrina Breaks Down: I can't believe I can act so well

Katrina Breaks Down: I can`t believe I can act so wellLast week at a special screening of Kabir Khans New York Katrina Kaif broke down after she saw what was on screen.

It was embarrassing. This has never happened to me before. I was deeply moved by the film. And I couldnt believe what my director Kabir Khan had achieved in my performance. I kept staring at myself. Thats me! I exclaimed at the end of the film.

This is the first time that Katrina has played a character who echoes her own personality. So far all my characters have been pretty alien to me. Even the London girl in Chandigarh in Namaste London was not at all like me. But the girl in New York connects deeply with me. Or do I connect with her? Its symbiotic, I think.

When he saw what synthesis of actor and character had been achieved she simply broke down.

Remembering that evening Katrina says, It was a very private screening. Only members of the cast, our director his wife, the producer and his wife were there. Ive never been so impressed by any of my films.

So far theyve all been in the orbit of escapist entertainment. New York is my first realistic film.Im proud of all my films. But this is new chapter in my career.

Katrina will be devoting the next two weeks solely to promoting the film. So far our producers Yashraj Films havent allowed us to talk about New York. Even now I cant talk much about it without giving away the plot. But Im very proud of what weve done.

New York - Movie Review

New YorkBy Taran Adarsh

Rating: ****

Myth: New York is about 9/11.
Fact: It's not. But it reflects the mood that's prevalent across the globe, post 9/11. The world is divided today. No two opinions on that!

Myth: New York bears a striking similarity to KHUDA KAY LIYE.
Fact: Nope. KHUDA KAY LIYE and New York may belong to the same family, of an innocent person being picked up for questioning after the WTC catastrophe, but the similarities end there. In fact, KHUDA KAY LIYE and New York are as diverse as chalk and cheese.

New York, helmed by Kabir Khan, attempts to be as real as possible. A tale of friendship, with terrorism as the wallpaper, New York hits you like a ton of bricks at several points in the narrative. In fact, there was a possibility that New York may turn out to be a dry experience, a documentary perhaps, but the drama is so well structured and so gripping that you get sucked into the world of Sam, Omar and Maya from its inception.

New York is a triumph for Kabir Khan, who deserves distinction marks for handling the subject with remarkable maturity. Also, this film should be a turning point for John, Katrina and Neil. More on that later...

The verdict? New York is, without doubt, one of the finest films produced by this premier production house, Yash Raj. Grab a ticket today!

Omar (Neil Nitin Mukesh) has gone abroad for the first time in his life and soon enough, he begins to see and love America through the eyes of his American friends, Sam (John Abraham) and Maya (Katrina Kaif). But an incident changes the world round them.

At this point enters Agent Roshan (Irrfan), an FBI agent, who sets the ball rolling for a series of tumultuous events that turn the lives of these friends upside down.

New York affects you like no other Hindi film has done so far (on 9/11). In fact, there are portions that give you goose bumps, especially towards the second half of the film, when John recounts his past.

One of the reasons why New York works is because not once does Kabir Khan borrow from the past or tilt towards predictable stuff. You just can't guess what and where the story is headed and what the culmination would be.

The director and his team of writers establish the plot and characters beautifully, but the real action is reserved for the second half. The nightmarish experience that John undergoes is disturbing, but lifts the film several notches up.

But New York has its share of loose ends. The film dips in the second hour. It tends to gets lengthy before it reaches a powerful, brilliantly executed climax. Also, a few sequences only add to the length of the film, which could've been curtailed in the writing stage itself.

Director Kabir Khan picks up a real incident -- innocent civilians being suspected as terrorists, soon after 9/11 -- and weaves a brilliant tale around it. The screenplay is its biggest star, without a doubt. Given the fact that New York isn't one of those routine masala fares, Kabir has injected songs only when required. Cinematography is striking.

Now here's another surprise. John, Katrina and Neil, all actors, deliver their career-best performance. If the first half belongs to Neil, John takes over the second hour completely. John is superb when he recalls the past.

You can feel his pain, that effective is his performance. Also, note his expressions towards the end. This is a different John, for sure. Just one word for his performance -- fabulous!

Neil was remarkable in JOHNNY GADDAAR, but disappointed in AA DEKHEN ZARA. Fortunately, he's in top form this time around. Katrina gives you the biggest surprise.

Known for her glamour roles, Katrina proves that she can deliver if the director and writer offer her a role of substance. She's outstanding. In fact, people will see a new, different Katrina this time. Irrfan is, as always, first-rate.

On the whole, New York is amongst the finest films produced by Yash Raj. At the box office, there's no stopping this one. Go for it now!

Love Aaj Kal - Music Review

Love Aaj KalMusic Director: Pritam Chakraborty
Lyricist: Irshad Kamil
Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan, KK, Neeraj Shridhar, Mohit Chauhan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
Rating: ***

After the hit score of "Jab We Met", director Imtiaz Ali has collaborated with Pritam yet again for the music of Saif Ali Khan's production debut "Love Aaj Kal". Pritam has left no stone unturned in creating soulful melodies.

The film that stars Saif and Deepika Padukone has seven originals and three remixes in the soundtrack.

"Aahun aahun", which has an electrifying start with the strumming of the guitar, is an amalgamation of a hit Punjabi pop song by singer Jazzy B and the Hindi song composed by Pritam. Sung by Neeraj Shridhar, the song keeps juggling between the two genres and is very entertaining. It sets the mood by mixing both Indian and western influences. "Aahun aahun" will surely be a hit.

The number also has a remixed version, which will become a favourite on the DJ consoles.

Up next is a beautiful rendition in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice. "Aaj din chadeyya" starts with a small alaap. A romantic song that is extremely soothing to the ears, "Aaj din..." strikes a chord with the listeners. The song has a feel-good factor.

With brilliant vocals by Sunidhi Chauhan and Neeraj Sridhar, the next song "Chor bazari" starts with foot-tapping, peppy music. The lyrics are not the highlight of the song, but the number has the potential to impress music buffs.

This too has a remixed version, which is quite average.

KK makes his presence felt with fast-paced song "Main kya hoon", which is enhanced by electronic and psychedelic beats.

With the next song "Thoda thoda pyar", the Punjabi flavour takes precedence. Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, it has a folk touch to it in places. But it might not go on to become a chartbuster.

Neeraj Sridhar returns with "Twist", which is intermingled with the song "Ek pardesi mera dil le gaya" from the 1958 film " Phagun". It's a dance number that is high on beats.

The remixed version, however, is better than the original.

Finally we have Mohit Chauhan crooning the song "Ye dooriyan". The song is just about passess muster, but Mohit's vocals are the highlight.

On the whole, Pritam has done a good job with the soundtrack and created songs that are sure to become hits.
