Food Update

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yes, the fridge is looking very empty and the freezer is not much better but all of this hardship is about to come to an end in the coming days as I start back as a Postie tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of the month I'll have been shopping and an empty fridge will be a thing of the past.

Its been a tough few months, where food has been not been taken for granted but has been seen as quite a luxury. Don't get me wrong - I've not been starving or going hungry like so many people experience, but I've had to get by on the very bare minimum to survive.

All of this has helped me to be grateful for the little I have and reminds me how incredibly fortunate we are to be able to have a meal. I hope when I'm back at the Post Office I remember the past few months and don't just slip back into taking things for granted.

There is a fine line between being humbled and being desperate - to be humbled can lead to a positive change in a persons behaviour but to be desperate can lead to a negative situation that can break the human spirit.

My Eurovision Winner - Bosnia

I've sat here and listened to all 39 Eurovision Song Contest Songs several times and I am awarding my 12 points to Bosnia & Herzegovina's Feminnem performing "Call Me".

The video is fantastic and the song is sooooooooo catchy, now I don't know if it can beat the hot favourite from Greece but check out the video for "Call Me":

Destiny's Child Get Rude !!

Check out these lyrics to the recent Destiny's Child song "Soldier", I think you'll agree these girls have got sex on the brain................

The way you got it, I'm the hottest around (The heat is turning up)
They'll know it when they see you rollin' impala's around (Are they on about his balls rollin?)
(I got a Soldier!)
Wit the top down feeling the sounds
Quakin' and vibratin' your thighs ridin' harder than guys (ok......... now the sex is begining!)
Wit the chrome wheels at the bottom, white leather inside (......inside the car as well you dirty girls)
When them flames be spittin' at you tell 'em don't even try it (Starting with oral)
To shot it wit Chelle and kick it wit Kelly or holla at B (oh he shot all right over Chelle!)
Ya, gotta be g's you way outta your league
Please!

[First Verse: Kelly (DC)]
We like dem boys that be in them lac's leanin' (Leanin')
Open their mouth their grill gleamin' (Gleamin') (I bet Kely would like his mouth open)
Candy paint, keep that whip clean and (Clean and) (Whips or Whip cream - either way its damn rude I tell you!)
(They always be talkin that country slang, we like)
They keep that beat that be in the back beatin' (Beatin') (....beatin the meat more like!)
Eyes be so low from that chief (chief and)
I love how he keep my body screamin' (Screamin') (Oh lordy now shes masturbating!)
A rude boy that's good to me, wit street credibility
[Hook: DC]
If your status ain't hood
I ain't checkin' for him
Betta be street if he lookin' at me
I need a soldier
That ain't scared to stand up for me
Known to carry big things (How about a big penis?)
If you know what I mean (oh we know what you mean!!)
If your status ain't hood
I ain't checkin' for him
Betta be street if he looking at me
I need a soldier
That ain't scared to stand up for me
Gotta know to get dough
And he betta be street

[Second Verse: Beyonce (DC)]
We like dem boys up top from the BK (BK) (A nice innocent Burger King maybe.....)
Know how to flip that money three ways (Three ways) (suddenly becomes prostitution)
Always ridin' big on the freeway (Freeway) (...... more sex in the car!)
(Wit that east coast slang that us country girls be like)
Low cut caesars wit the deep waves (deep waves)
So quick to snatch up your Beyonce (Beyonce)
Always comin down poppin our way (Our way) (poppin cherries more like you bad Beyonce!)
(Tellin us that country girls the kinda girl they like)

[Bridge: Beyonce (DC):]
I know some soldiers in here (Where they at, where they at)
They wanna take care of me (Where they at) (I bet you'd like that!)
I know some soldiers in here (Where they at, where they at)
Wouldn't mind takin one for me (Where they at) (Takin one where exactly??!!)
I know some soldiers in here (Where they at, where they at)
They wanna spend that on me (Where they at) (Your just so cheap girl)
I know some soldiers in here (Where they at, where they at)
Wouldn't mind puttin that on me (Where they at) (She's still trying to get some)

[Second Verse: T.I.]
Next to the speakers keep a toy in the trunk of the 'lac
A reformed D boy use to run into traps
Still a soldier do to war if you running your trap
About my girls ain't no thing to put you under the map (ok, so this guy hasn't finished school yey, let him carry on.........)
Walk the streets five deep with nothing less than a stack (of playing cards maybe?)
And 80 carats on my chest provides a special attraction (carrots more like you big softie!)
50 G's in my jeans plus the dough from the waller (50 G's? I think you meant 50 peas - just to carry on the friut and veg bit!)
It's the reason I'm the king girl, I know what you like (finally the King Girl is out of the closet)

[Hook: DC]
If your status ain't hood (what Robin Hod?)
I ain't checkin' for him
Betta be street if he lookin' at me
I need a soldier (Well King Girl is gonna be a bit disappointing)
That ain't scared to stand up for me (too late.... he's standing for the boys)
Known to carry big things (oh yeah now your talking)
If you know what I mean (it's all making sense now)
If your status ain't hood
I ain't checkin' for him
Betta be street if he looking at me
I need a soldier
That ain't scared to stand up for me
Gotta know to get dough
And he betta be street

[Third Verse: Michelle (DC)]
I like dem boys over there they lookin' strong tonight (Strong
tonight)
Just might give one the phone tonight (Phone tonight) (A bit of phone sex Michelle?)
Homey in the dickies in my zone tonight (Zone tonight) (I think you mean cock)
He don't know it might be on tonight (On tonight) (As long as its not you whos on)
Ooh he lookin' good and he talkin' right (Talkin' right)
He the type that might change my life (Change my life) (I think he'll start by changing your wardrobe darling!)
Everytime he look at me my girls be like (Girls be like)
(That one may be the one tonight)

[Hook: DC] Chorus again blah blah blah

[Second Rap: Lil Wayne]
Hey, see cash money is a army (Lil Wayne must be the army pro!)
I'm walkin' wit purple hearts on me (...a few purple helmets sounds true)
You talkin' to the sargeant (I bet your on your knees now!)
Body marked up like the subway in harlem (subways in the dark? Whatever takes your fancy)
Call him, weezy f baby, please say the baby
If you don't see me on the block I ain't tryna hide
I blend in wit the hood, i'm camouflage (your in the bushes darling!)
Bandana tied, so mommy join my troop (bananas - join my troop? - need I say more?)
Now every time she hear my name she say whoomp ("whoomp" translated means Army gayboy)

[Bridge: Beyonce (DC):]
I know some soldiers in here (Where they at, where they at)
They wanna take care of me (Where they at) (they will even do your hair for you!)
I know some soldiers in here (Where they at, where they at)
Wouldn't mind puttin that on me (Where they at) (putting what ,where?)

Poor DC just wanted sex but got in with the wrong boys - these hommies were more like homo's - but I'm sure they looked just FAB in their uniforms!!

Thought of the Day

To bite off the hand that feeds

End of an era...............

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Coventry City Football Club Logo.

After 106 years, Coventry City Football Club are moving from the footie grounds they have been playing. It's easy to be nostalgic and sad but I'm both happy and sad.

Sad to see the end of an era and watch the fans go to the footie ground near to where I live, sad because of the history and sad because it was so close to my home. But I'm also happy cos I'll be able to park my car on match days, happy cos its a new era for Coventry and I'm happy cos there is a new 32,000 seater stadium with prospects for live music in Coventry at last.

I'm not much of a footie fan but I do like to watch the results - still, it was kinda sad to walk past the stadium and take the picture of the CCFC logo. Hope it all goes well in the new £113m stadium..........

Blogg of the Week.........

This Blogg had me smiling as I went Blogg hopping tonight. I liked the picture, which has been "adapted" from a HSBC "The world's local bank" advert in the UK.

Eurovision Song Contest - Update

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Eurovision Song Contest 2005 -UPDATE

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/eurovision/2005

It is just 9 days until the Semi - Final and I am starting to get excited - yep you've guessed it, I am one sad individual. But I can't help it - Eurovision brings out the best in me. I love the different styles of music and absolutely love the voting. Last year I got into it BIG time and was hoping to do a party this year since it is the 50th Eurovision , but sadly I have no money so will be celebrating all that is Eurovision next Saturday with some good friends of mine.

Last year I was on DenDen and made quite a night of it - flag waving , wine drinking and score pad at the ready.......... Only to wake up about 4am with a bottle of wine in my hand. I felt like Patsy from Ab Fab! I think going to the Eurovision websites before the event got me more hyper and made me more interested in the event cos I could hear all the songs before the contest. No wonder I ordered the CD and DVD from Amazon following the fantastic event in Turkey last May.

This year I am more hopeful of the UK entry - Javine "Touch My Fire" as it has a more Eastern European feel to it, so I am hoping it will score well. I'm going to try and listen to all the other songs now on the BBC website to get me in the mood for next Thursday's Semi Final (shown on BBC3).

I love Eurovision!!!

Goodbye Old Job.....

No more......................
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
and no more..................
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
After just 7 months of listening to moaning problems about sewers and water leaks - I finally handed back my headset and said goodbye to my job at the water company I had been working for. It was a sad day leaving the people that had made me feel so welcome after such a short time. They gave me a card and some shopping vouchers ( - yes, they knew I was hard up!) then I was hugged, kissed, emailed and waved at all day by various people saying "goodbye".

I will no longer be a prisoner of the headset, and it will be good being my normal self instead of "having" to be nice to the public ALL day long! It has been a good experience trying something new but now I am going back to what I do best - BEING A POSTIE!

5. A slice of country life in England.

Life can be great in Britain - when the sun shines, as we found out this weekend. Living in the centre of England has it's good points and a short drive to Stratford-Upon-Avon proved that. We had a gentle stroll in the town and followed the river around as people relaxed or on the grass or were rowing along the waters - all very English and very laid back.

I'm looking forward to the Summer months ahead, as the first picture shows - even Coventry can have lovely sun sets!!
